Our big goal is to increase the diversity among doctors who are underrepresented in the physician workforce from the current rate of 11% to 20% by 2035. We are committed to building a pipeline of future medical students, as early as 4th grade, that is more representative of the U.S. population.

MPP Academy students will be prepared to enter a career in the field of Medicine and Healthcare that provides a sense of purpose and meaning to their lives.

  • The MPP Academy will provide students with the tools and mindsets to define their life’s purpose/career path and develop a personal strategic action plan (roadmap) to achieve their future career goal.

MPP Academy students receive year-round rigorous academic instruction to become a competitive medical school applicant, with the mindset, tools, and resources to thrive in medical school and beyond.

  • Students receive extensive instruction in pre-medical coursework including math, science, academic writing, and public speaking.
  • Our focus for elementary and secondary students is to build a strong math and science foundation to strengthen their preparation for pre-med college courses and beyond.

MPP Academy students receive hands-on clinical experience to learn a variety of medical techniques that medical physicians must know in order to provide high-quality care to their patients.

  • Students participate in clinical simulation, project based learning activities, and gain valuable, hands-on experience. Our simulation activities range from the basics of interacting with patients, checking vitals, providing wound care, making incisions, administering injections, to suturing.

MPP Academy students are provided with personalized guidance and a four phase evidence-based approach to career exploration & planning to help students determine if a career in medicine is the right fit. Additionally, our program will help students discover their career path in the field of medicine.

  • Students will receive a comprehensive textbook (written exclusively for MPP Academy participants) that empowers them with the tools and resources to navigate the career exploration and planning process. Each student will develop a personal strategic action plan with 1:1 support.

MPP Academy students develop academic skills & develop writing skills for college and career success.

  • Students will be prepared for the rigors of college and medical school education and training. Students will develop a more strategic approach to reading, college-level writing, note-taking, and researching topics for an academic paper in a quicker, more effective, way. Some of the seminar topics include overcoming procrastination, time management, memory and concentration, note-taking, textbook reading, and exam preparation. Please note that these seminars are not intended as remedial skills instruction..

MPP Academy students are provided with 1:1 and small group support to navigate the college admissions and medical school process.

  • Students are provided with the tools and resources to navigate the college and medical school admissions process. Students will develop the knowledge to become a competitive college and medical school applicant and to be a desirable candidate at “top schools”.

MPP Academy students will receive college and medical school affordability instruction and 1:1 financial aid advising.

  • Students receive the knowledge, tools and resources to navigate the college and medical school financial aid process, and additional options available to finance an undergraduate and medical school education. This is meant to simplify the complex college financial aid process and reduce the stress and anxiety of paying for college and medical school.

MPP Academy students develop the social and emotional attributes to matriculate and thrive in medical school and beyond.

  • Our Social-Emotional Seminars are designed to help students break through their barriers and develop the resilience needed to achieve their future career goal of becoming a medical physician.
  • Our Wellness Workshops are meant to help students to thrive, to maintain and even improve health, to take ownership of one’s health to prevent illness and develop a healthy lifestyle.

MPP Academy students will spend 4-5 weeks during the summer living and learning on a top university campus to become academically and mentally prepared with the social and emotional skills to enter and graduate from medical school and become a licensed medical physician.

  • Students will experience college life while they live and learn on a college campus. Students establish a sense of community, and academic and personal growth in a safe and secure college environment.

MPP Academy students study abroad during an international experience trip in which they develop cultural and global awareness in a healthcare setting.

  • Students in the high school and undergraduate program will travel abroad for one summer during an international study abroad immersive experience. Students will learn about the social, economical, and environmental factors that affect the health of patients and populations in a healthcare system outside of the USA.

MPP Academy students will be paired with a Career Coach that provides mentorship and personalized support for professional and personal development into the field of medicine.

  • Students, parents, and program staff work together to select a mentor for each student enrolled in the MPP Academy. Our Career Coaches are pre-med and medical students, resident physicians, and licensed medical physicians. Having coaches with different levels of experience and exposure to programming, and with varying levels of formal education and professional experience is a unique aspect of the program.

Provide participants with substantive academic preparation and social-emotional skills development training to breakthrough academic and non-academic barriers to strengthen their preparation for undergraduate study and medical school.

Earn First Aid, CPR, AED, & BLS Certification from Americal Red Cross.

Connect with professionals from different specialties in the medical field to learn about the wide variety of medical specialties and career opportunities in medical.
